Naps

My 10 week old twin girls have a hard time staying asleep for long during their daytime naps, they sleep well at night. Right now they eat 5oz of formula and attempt to sleep for about 4 hours and they wake on their own for meals. At night they get their midnight feeding and then they are good the rest of the night until 8am. Any tips or advice to help them sleep better during the day?

how much sleep are they getting total in a 24hour period?

@Anne Calculating from 8am id say maybe a total of 19/20 hrs and that’s 24 hrs and they sleep through the night from 1am-ish to about 8am

@Shaena Navarro Wow. The recommended amount of sleep for newborns is 14-17hours within a 24hour period. I would talk to your pediatrician. Sounds like they are sleeping a lot.

@Anne you think so? - idk if I’m even calculating it right but sure

@Shaena Navarro 19/20 hours of sleep within 24 hours means they only have 4 hours of awake time. Our pediatrician told us that 14-17 hours is a healthy range. You can use a free tracker app like Baby tracker to calculate total sleep per day if you’re concerned.
