Is my breastfeeding journey ending?!

Hey mommies, I started work this week (WFH) but with back-to-back meetings, I haven’t been able to breastfeed my baby during the day — so we started giving bottles. Now he’s refusing to nurse even when I’m free, like in the evenings. Is this the end of our breastfeeding journey?! I really want to keep going — any tips?

It doesn’t have to be. I would make sure he is using the slowest flow nipples on his bottles because larger flow nipples make it too easy for them to drink while breastfeeding requires work. Also make sure you pace feed the baby bottles in order to slow him from eating so fast.

Why don’t you pump? If accepting the bottle can still have breastmilk goodness then. I WFH and pump during zoom calls etc n just take out once meeting over. They are quiet and not that obvious with the right tip

@Melanie Actually, mine is quite the opposite. My letdowns are super fast and I feel the flow of my breastmilk is very strong, so he sometimes struggles to keep up. But with the bottle, the flow is slower, so I think he prefers that. In my situation, would you recommend increasing the bottle nipple size from 1 to 2 so he learns to drink faster? I’m just worried he might choke if the flow becomes too fast.

@Tara That’s true but I really loved nursing him - esp those quite times with him. Just can’t accept that I can’t do it anymore.
