Bedtime routines

Could you give me examples of your current bedtime routines? Specifically, do you stay with your toddler until they fall asleep or leave the room? Also is there anyone out there still co-sleeping. I’ve let me little one get in bed with me up until now and it’s never bothered me but now I’m ready for her to stay in her room and hopefully I can get a rested sleep🙃

Yes, we have to stay with her until she’s asleep and my husband cosleeps with her in a double floor bed, I’m cosleeping with the baby. He’s asked her a few times if she wants to go to sleep by herself, and she says yes, but then starts crying when he goes to leave the room! So we’re not at independent sleep yet!

We're not at independent sleep either. We stay with him until he falls asleep then my husband co sleeps with him whilst I co sleep with baby. He does tend to sleep through anyway but this is more of a guarantee for a better night's sleep all round!

We've only been co sleeping for around 8 months as our little boy was getting me up every single night and I was pregnant so it seemed easier. He will go to bed on his own but if we didn't go in with him, he'd be up in the night. Hoping to get him back into a routine of sleeping alone soon

Our bedtime routine Is teeth , toilet then a story We then put a night light on have a Kiss & cuddle then leave the room But I think we were lucky as I’ve never had to stay with her till she was asleep Fingers crossed you can crack it x

We do 5-10 minutes of play with an alarm in the bedroom which is usually silly play like pretending to be animals of piggy back rides etc and then once the alarm goes off we brush teeth, have a story in bed and then I put on his night light and he listens to a story on his tonie to go to sleep. He has gone to sleep on his own since we introduced the play before bedtime routine ☺️ He does wake in the night and gets in our bed but I don’t have the will power to put him back and we all get sleep so not quite happy to keep it like that for now ☺️ x

We do bath, teeth, three stories (2 on the floor, 1 in his bed) and then we usually have a little cuddle in his bed and a chat until he tells us to go in our bed (which is his cue for being ready to sleep, he sends us to bed). He’s been very good at going to sleep himself. We’ve had little periods where he’s needed us to be with him until he falls asleep (when he started nursery, when he moved into a toddler bed, when he got a baby sister) but it’s been temporary and he’s been able to get back to us leaving him to it. His little sister so far has been an awful sleeper and I don’t envisage she will be as easy as our toddler as she gets older 😂

Our routine, toilet, brush teeth, shower, story, night light, bed xx

My wee one has put herself to sleep since she was about 1 year old. Routine is bath, jammies, supper and bedtime. Take her to bed, tuck her in, kiss on the forehead and leave the room and she sleeps great. We’ve recently moved house and she’s upgraded from a cot bed to a double bed and she’s LOVES the extra space to roll around. I’ve never co-slept with her as I don’t feel comfortable having her in my bed, and don’t feel either of us would sleep properly. She went through sleep training at 5 months old and it’s really paid off, I feel really lucky! I’m due another one in August and I know for a fact luck like that never strikes twice 😅🤣 x
