Weaning

How's everyone getting on with weaning? This is my second baby and I struggle. For convenience of working etc we've always used jar sauces for Bolognais, curries etc and are now struggling knowing baby can't have our dinner if that's what we're using. What are you guys doing?

I’m using pouches and jars at the moment not sure what else to go with BLW scares me 😂x

Me too, he does seem to want to feed himself though. I gave him really soft broccoli last night to hold and eat and he started gagging. I'm trying to do a mix of puree with something to hold himself also. Just hard though when we eat with jar sauces so can't explain puree that for him x

I haven’t started weaning yet but few years back when I tried to be healthier (lol) I started using chopped tomato tins instead of jar sauces for bolognese and curries so maybe give it a go!

May I add I don’t think jars are unhealthy just chopped tomatoes might have less salt etc!

I started with a mixture of BLW and making puree. Started on Monday and so far he’s just not interested at all. He was showing all the signs but he’s not interested if I give it him, doesn’t play with it and if I eat with him to show him he just watched me eat 🤦‍♀️ x

I started about 3 week’s ago and i am making everything at home from fresh veg and fruits , pasta, porridge (blended all ) I am using bread milk bags to froze food . Usually I am spending one evening to prep all for all week p.U can use whenever you need. One day he is eating 2/3 meals and next not much. I am not pushing as I think he will eat more when he is ready. Personally I am doing lots of things by instincts. I am not a big fan of ready made shop baby foods. They are good when you travelling . Xx
