Making your own sauces is as quick and easy as using a jar, or you can even batch cook and make a big portion of the sauce and put into jars to freeze and then just take out the night before you plan to use it x
I think making your own can be relatively quick and much more tasty and nutritional not just for your baby but all the family. Once you start cooking from scratch it will get easier and quicker over time, then become second nature. As others have said you can also batch cook so you extra meals for days when you don’t have time to cook/quick lunches
Also there are some meals that do not take much time to make and can still be nutritious. I.e cutting up fresh fruit, steamed vegetables, adding cheeses/yoghurts to meals, boiling pasta and adding cottage cheese or butter, cooking meats all doesn’t take very long x
I feel you! Everyone says it’s quick and easy to make things and batch cook but we’ve always gone for the least dishes/ least mess in kitchen approach. I do not have time to clean 5 pans and a blender every weekend🤣 I do have to cook separately for baby because our teas are mainly no good for her plus she has intolerances. I’ve also been getting the Little Dish meals from Asda which are a bit expensive but are perfect for when you’re home from work late and stay fresh in the fridge or can be frozen. I just tend to make her something and put half of it in the fridge for the next day e.g. chicken thighs, veg, pasta, fish, potato, naan bread, mash, waffles, fish fingers, banana pancakes, toast with cheese spread, rice, fruit, porridge, overnight oats, sandwich
You can go for low sodium, and whole food and low added sugar jarred things. I shoot for organic as well if it's an option. I also can my own food so if you know how to do that you can do that or you can make huge amounts and freeze in portions
When I was weaning my daughter, I started with homemade fruit and veggie purees (I’d steam them and then blend) and then slowly introduced yoghurt and finger foods and eventually started giving her whatever I was eating but I’d blend it or cut it so it was appropriate for her age and made sure it had less salt content than what I was eating
