Same thing here. Looking for some answers too
Possibly a growth spurt? Not entirely sure
From what I’ve experienced with my daughter (3mos next week) is when she sleeps more means she’s about to do a leap in her development and she eats 2.5oz-3 at a time. From what her pediatrician tells me is she’s doing great and healthy
Well as long as she is happy and making wet diapers everything should be fine my daughter goes days without pooping also but that is normal for breastfed babies. My daughter also can’t finish 4 ounce bottles. And If you are concerned always consult your pediatrician
This is what my daughter does when she’s going through a growth spurt!
Same thing but not with bottles, it just seems like she’s nursing for less time so I’m worried. I’m hoping she just is getting more efficient at emptying me but she’s also popping herself on and off more often and going longer between feeds.
So depending on your baby’s age; i just learned after about 8 weeks babies lose the automatic sucking reflex. The baby now has to work muscle that muscle & if they are working too hard…they become tired & lose interest in eating. This may not be your situation but I noticed my little one wasn’t finishing bottles like she used to so I reached out to a lactation consultant to see what was going on. In my case, my little one is using alot of energy to drink from a bottle so that’s why she taps out at 2-3 ounces if i offer 4.
Try using TheWonderWeeks app. It’s helped us a lot and tells us when we can expect her to be going through a leap. It’s pretty spot on. We’ve been able to notice certain patterns in her behavior and eases our mind when she starts randomly eating less, sleeping more, fussy, etc. It also gives you ideas on what activities you can do with them to help with the new leap. You do have to pay for it, but I think there’s a free trial. Worth it for us!
Thanks for the comments all! I think she’s going through a leap. Got the wonder weeks app. The timing is a couple of days off but that’s the only explanation that makes sense right now. Her sleep time is changing too since she seems way too stimulated at night and fights sleep with all her might.
I’m also going through this with my baby ( 3 months) he usually eats 5 oz of breast milk, but has only been eating 4 even sometimes 3. He also is sleeping a lot more than he usually does And is also still sleeping great at night. He’s still pooping on a normal schedule
