Does anyone have a 5 year old that has swallowed a penny?

Hi! Not personal experience with my own kiddo but I work in pediatric healthcare. You wouldn't believe how common this is. As long as X-rays looked fine and you were sent home to pass it, it should be pretty easy going. Just keep an eye on their poop to make sure it does pass. Most kids don't even notice it.

I swallowed a dollar coin (I’m from Aus) when I was a kid, not sure what happened to it I wasn’t going to make sure it came out ahahhah.

I ate many coins as a kid(pretty sure I had undiagnosed PICA) and I passed them fine. Just keep an eye on him and any abdominal pain or cramping may warrant another ER trip and drag to make sure it doesn’t cause a blockage. Many times our body can just naturally pass these things. I hope it all goes smoothly for your little one
