This article has a podiatrist talking about the issues https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2024/10/08/nx-s1-5144723/kids-crocs-feet-shoe#:~:text=She%20says%20that%20the%20shoes,as%2C%20say%2C%20a%20sneaker.
She uses them for her kids sometimes, the issue is all day everyday use
Wow thank you for this, I was seeing some mixed reviews on crocs so this would be helpful x
I personally do not like crocs at all. And for kids? They're very uncomfortable on the feet and makes them trip and fall and is just... No.
For the garden at home, can’t beat them. But I don’t put them on her for out and about. I think if they’re worn all the time (as most things!) that’s when they can become an issue.
From what I’ve read, they are generally bad for all feet. Personally I don’t understand how children are keeping them on their feet. I see them in climbing frames with these things on their feet and I have to look away.
I remember my daughter was at nursery and it was a hot day. I just had her in socks and trainers and the teachers said they put her crocs on her feet (around the nursery setting) and she was soo much happier as I guess her feet were quite hot. That's when I don't mind her wearing them as sometimes the trainers can make her feet hot/sweaty
From what I’ve read shoes in general for babies under 2 are not good for all day use
I wish my daughter would wear her crocs lol she refuses. I only put her in shoes for walks where there could be glass etc
@Steven Anita Smith I get that, she's barefoot indoors but when we're out I have to have shoes on her
@Steven Anita Smith oh yes that's why I can't have her barefoot when we're out, unless it's a really hot day and she's in the pram. My daughter actually put her Crocs on herself, she got them from her shoe drawer 😅
I love that lol my daughter brings me my crocs 100 times a day LOVES walks but will only wear this one pair of boots 🥾
@Steven Anita Smith Aww that's soo sweet. My daughter will bring me my other shoes to put on my feet as she wants to go outside 😂 That's really cute, maybe she'll eventually like wearing other shoes than her boots x
The looseness of them paired with no foot/arch or ankle support is the issue I would think. That said, if she's not in them everyday it's probably fine.
