high temperature

how is everyone managing high temperatures, my lo is 18 months and for the past 2 days has been getting high temperature few days ago he seem like he was just teething, I've been giving calpol and nurofen just wondering what else I can do, his not eating much so I'm guessing his throat hurts as well. Help
