He’ll be rear facing as long as possible. His seat will do that until he’s 4ish, but his little brother has a 36Kg ERF seat so I might switch him into that for a while longer so he can still rear face.
I wouldn't set an age for it but try to go rear facing as long as the child tolerates it and the seat allows it.
We have an extended rear facing seat so I'm hoping 6 or 7.
Between 5-6 years old
Our newly 4 year old is still rear facing. Trying to wait until she maxes out the height or weight, but I'll most likely switch it when she starts school if it's not already
My eldest forward faced at 4. She’d outgrown her rear facing and with the arrival of twins we couldn’t afford a longer rear facing seat. Our twins will probably be around the same age as we will use the same seat (although one of our twins is small so may last longer)
My son started facing forward at 2
We are maxing out the seats limits. He is 2 and already 34 inches and almost 32lbs, so we will be getting an extended rear facing seat soon and putting his car seats up for when we transition our twins due next month into a convertible seat. Then we will probably eventually get them extended rear facing seats, but we possibly will only have to by one at that point, if the oldest has grown out of his.
My son was 4 and a half when he outgrew the 25kg weight limit for his RF seat but my daughter has a 36kg one so she’ll hopefully be RF until she’s 6. Basically as long as possible!

Max seat limit 40lbs
So my son seat would allow him to go up to 50lbs i think rear face hes 34lbs and after every trip he would complain about his knees and hips and would walk very stiff he loves being on the go but it started becoming a big chore to get him in so I just turned him forward I wanted to wait until he was at least 3 but at the time he was 2½ so I flipped him hes 3 next month and hes back to being very excited about going in his car seat and being on the go. He also has quit complaining about his hips and knees. And jumps out running instead of looking like a little ol man.
2 for our oldest, likely the same for our second unless he's chill about it and still is under the weight limit of our seat
Until he is over the limit of height or weight. He's 3 this month and we aren't there yet and he's always been a big kid.

4-5
Have an extended rear facing seat, trying to go as long as possible. She hasn’t complained and the 1-2 times she was in a forward facing car seat in grandmas car she asked for her car seat
I did it until the 105cm limit so she was 4
As long as possible, she’s a tall girl so if she keeps growing this way and we max out a ERF car seat then we’ll turn her around
Age 4
As long as possible. The seat he’s got he can rear face until 7, so we’ll see!
2 yrs for my oldest and more than likely the same for my youngest.
His seat allows extended rear facing so as long as he physically can. Earliest I’d be comfortable turning him is 4 but, again, no idea how he will grow.
When she maxes out the height limit, that will come b4 weight with her build. Looking like she will be 3 when that happens as she is just over 2.5 and already 38in.
My daughter started at 2
I think it depends on how big your kid is, we waited until our 3 year old absolutely could not fit anymore, towards the end his legs would be straight up, sounds terrible but not that uncomfortable from what I could tell and it is soooo much safer to be rear facing for as long as possible
His seat maxed out at 35lbs and he didn’t hit that until after we moved him to front facing, but my best friend has a child the same age and he grew out of his seat right before 3
My 2 year old is only forward facing in my husbands truck bc his truck seat is weird My daughter is only 25 pounds tho
We will forward face when she reaches 40lbs. My daughter is currently 2 1/2 and only 23lbs so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s still rear facing at 4 years old.

At least 4
I'm confused. I didn't know you could have a child rear facing for that long. I felt like my 8 month old is out growing her seat and the next step is forward facing I thought. Time to do some research...
@Bounette definitely too young but a good thing you’ve seen this post and can educate yourself as I only found out from my sister about extended rear facing otherwise I wouldn’t have even thought about it! It reduces the risk of serious injury significantly and that alone is enough reason to do it xx
My 18 month old is forward facing because he's got a few issues with his joints and he's currently around 37lb and 97cm so he's nearly maxed out his seat and was screaming with pain from the position he was in
Our car seat goes to 50lbs so likely 4-5
Have been reading a lot now about how dangerous it is to do it before 4 years even

How are people even still asking this question. The facts and figures are out there. Watch the video 👆🏼
Our son was 4 this week and he was rear facing until approx 2/3 weeks ago.
4. His carseat is 0-4yrs so when we upgraded to a 4-8yr car seat that’s when we FF
At least until 4 or until she maxes out her seat. It’s just not worth the Potential danger to me. X
He is currently 3 years old and still happily and comfortably rear facing. We have a rear facing only seat which has a higher weight and height limit (axkid). He won't outgrow it until over 5 years. Once he has outgrown and is ready we will switch to a high back booster.
I'm trying to get to 4 (which my car seat should do but obviously depends on child's growth), but if I end up having to buy another car seat to rear face longer, then I'll just max out that one as some go to 6.
