Once a day since around 4 months, took a few days for him to actually understand the spoon
No baby is 5.5 months. Shes not sitting up unassisted yet so we have not started. She is starting to grab things more in play so may start soon!
Yes, here and there. He loves it. Scream/yell for feeding him too slow 😅
My son is 5 months as of the 4th but isn't sitting up unassisted yet either so I haven't started. Plus I'm super scared lol. I'm not having anymore kids so I think I'm trying to hold on to this moment🥺 Plus I'm afraid of him being allergic to stuff
We started homemade purée’s as approved by her pediatrician at about 4months + 1week (like a week and a half ago). She isn’t sitting totally unassisted yet but sits great in her high chair without leaning and has great head and neck control. She has been suuuuper curious about food since shortly before 4 months. Like I feel bad eating in front of her lol. I just give her 1 tablespoons worth at brunch time and 1 tablespoons worth (but little bit at a time) at dinner. She’s been loving it and gets super excited. She does pretty good with the spoon too. we’ve only tried banana, avocado, and sweet potato so far. Making carrot next then want to move on to some less sweet veggies. Will introduce actually solid solids at 6 months
We are also waiting until 6 months for any major allergens. As well as meats and dairy. Just doing fruits and veggies for now. And probably going to avoid brassicas until 6 months too.
Things we've tried: Peanut butter (yummy) Avocado Bread sticks Eggs Applesauce Sweet potato Casava fries Hummus
Nope. We will introduce around 6 months when she has met the developmental milestones and her body is equipped to digest and handle solids. All milk diet for now :) we will be following baby led weaning
Not yet even tho pediatrician said to start mixing in cereal… no thanks! I want to start on real food! 😄
@Vanessa it’s surprising the number of Peds still recommended this outdated advice!
Waiting till 6 months
My daughter will be 5 months on the 17th but she’s been so curious so I’ve started giving her some rice cereal
I started my son on solids about 4 months because he was just so hungry still after an 8 oz bottle and I just felt so bad for him.
Here and there.
