Antenatal classes - Jessop/Sheffield

I'm currently exploring antenatal classes in Sheffield and was wondering if anyone here has tried the ones offered at Jessop Hospital? Were they helpful for you and your partner? Did you find them useful not just for the information, but also for meeting other parents-to-be? Also open to recommendations. Are there any other classes in Sheffield you’d recommend? Thanks!

I went to their full day one in person. It was helpful in terms of information but not so helpful in terms of meeting new people as I didn’t feel it was really there for people to socialise at all unfortunately 😊

I agree with the above. Wasn’t social but super informative !

NCT website for classes. They cost but apparently great

Totally agree with Rachel, it was informative and good for us to have an idea of the facilities specific to jessops however we didn’t make any connections through it. We also did some online classes through the honest midwife which were really useful, again informative rather than for making social connections but I felt so much more prepared when things didn’t quite go to the ideal birth plan to have the info about all potential options

Agree with all of this - midwife was sooo good but no opportunity really to mix with others.

We’re currently going to happy parents happy baby and enjoying them (ours is held in the Lescar pub). Informative and enough time to socialise too. A social event is added into the schedule aswell which is what we really wanted to get from it.

We went to Jessops for the half a day antenatal class which was brilliant but also agree, wasn’t the most social! We’ve decided to go to a private group which runs over the course of 6 weeks so we can have the more social side :)
