Baby bowel movements since weaning

Started weaning lb about 1 month ago, he is now 6.5 months old. He is currently on 2 meals a day breakfast and tea. He has struggling recently with the size of his poops, where he cries a lot when passing them. Is anyone else experiencing this? He is fine after going, it's just when it's happening bless him. I took him to the doctors and they said it's likely constipation but he goes regularly every day or other day, which is making me think it's the size of what's coming out. Has anyone got any advice on this? Thanks

I’m having the same but I just try to give him water during the day. And if it’s really bad I put some prune pouch in his milk

Try giving some pear or prune purées, fill up on fibre and make sure to keep him hydrated with water

It's never happened with my baby just don't give too heavy meal, start with light stuff fruits and veggies which are light and i usually feed him after the solida a little because he doesn't take water tho, if your baby takes water just give after light solid meal. It will be fine.

My LG was fine to start with and then all of a sudden was really straining to go and doing the world's smallest poos about 4/5 times a day so I contacted doctors as we were going away and we were given lactulose which has seemed to help her but we also give her some of a prune pouch with her breakfast and if not that then really ripe banana and offering water everytime we offer food and it seems to be working without having to use the lactulose at the moment. I was told there is a rule of P and foods that begin with P are good for constipation how true that is I don't know

It’s very normal. P fruits - pear & prunes especially are great for helping (I used purees) It takes them a bit of time to get used to the new pooping

We had the same. I always keep those prune pouches in stock and also weetabix and offer water x

Ah yes when my little boy (11 months now) first started having solid poops he was cry while passing it and then until I'd cleaned him up. He would go bright red and really strain it was so sad. This only happened for like 2/3 days though and then he wasn't so bothered anyway. I do give prunes if I feel they are quite dry or he's struggling to pass and he has quite a bit of fruit, especially pears with the skin on xx
