Failed Sweep

Anyone else had a failed sweep at 40 weeks due to cervix being closed? Feel a bit disheartened and any suggestions on how to help open the cervix would be much appreciated

I had a failed sweep at 40 weeks in my first pregnancy. Cervix was high, closed and generally unfavourable. Only managed a successful sweep at 41 weeks, when I was 1-2cm dilated.

It's pretty normal, average pregnancy length for a first time mum is actually 40+5. I know all the waiting is tough but it will happen when your baby and your body are ready! X
