Travel cot.

Has anyone used this travel cot and mattress? My little one is close to outgrowing her next to me and I’m not quite ready for her to be in her own room. It would possibly only be for a couple of months so thought I’d buy a travel cot rather than moving her main crib from her room to ours. I thought about this joie one but wanted opinions.

I'm not sure how safe it is, the mattress is listed as foam which is a big no no for safe sleeping. Its generally advised that a baby mattress should be made from fibre not foam or polyester which the mattress is made from polyester foam. I personally would not put my baby on that and be comfortable or confident that he is safe on that mattress. When looking for travel cot mattress look in product specifications n see what the filling is made from u preferably want fibre. The cheap ones are usually foam/polyester n the more expensive mattresses r fibre. Just because it's listed a breathable doesn't mean it is, no mattress is breathable. N soft is a big no no u want an baby mattress to be listed as firm to ensure the safest sleep, hope this helps x

Personally the safest thing in a travel cot is the hard foldable mattress it comes with, doesn't look or feel very comfy to us but it's the best and safest thing, travel cot mattresses r just sold to capitalise on our wants and desires for a "comfy" bed n we project that onto our baby x

@Willow thank you very much! X

I’ve got this exact cot, we didn’t have a next to me, we used this because it has a next to me feature where you can have baby higher up and the side drops down. Baby was fine on the mattress itself, I was worried about this too, but he did sleep ok on it. I wasn’t a fan of the wooden cots, simply because I didn’t want baby banging his head or anything, but this cot was great for us x

I used this with my first until she was 6 months and my second. It was great, we loved it x

We used this with my son until he was around 20 months because he wouldn’t sleep in his cot and hated it so he was in our room next to us in this!

Thank you everyone. Think I’ll buy it but possibly another mattress as she is a tummy sleeper so that would worry me x

I have this cot and my little boys been in it since he was 4 months old, and he’s been fine with the bottom that came with it. I put on a sheet so that it can be washed if it gets soiled but he’s had no issues with it and is still in it now at 2 but he’s slowly outgrowing it now
