4 year old bedtime

Anyone else’s 4 year old’s behaviour and mood swings so bad. Also anyone’s 4 year old fighting bedtime bad… bedtime is 7:30 usually but it’s now 9:40 and she’s screaming and refusing to go bed.

This literally popped up as I’ve just been in my 4 year old for the 7th time! Not screaming and refusing but constantly getting out of bed and playing with all the toys that I’ve already tidied away, using his duvet to slide down the stairs of his bed and twice I’ve caught him on the window ledge - boys are absolutely feral 💀. I’ve put his baby monitor back in his room to see what he’s doing but he thinks it’s great that we can have a chat through it 🫠

@@Amyh god.. hope he settles down soon. I had to resort to letting her fall asleep in our bed and then move her to her room. Probably not the best idea but you could see how tired she was. I did read that was a big developmental leap for them at this age and some people have told me it’s worse than the terrible two’s 🙈 I’m really hoping it’s just a phase x

Sometimes you’ve just got to do whatever is gonna work for you. He is now asleep but I think I’ve threatened to take away/giveaway absolutely everything that he owns 🙈. Not only should he have been asleep 2 hours before but I have a newborn in the next room and I was not risking him being woken up as well! I don’t think I’ll ever understand kids getting overtired and playing up - just go to sleep?! I thought we got lucky and kind of escaped terrible 2’s but the back end of 3 and now 4 has absolutely sucker punched me! Fingers crossed that the good weather at least tires them out x

Yea... bedtime has got later and later since it's light until 9pm now. Everything is a negotiation at the moment... Everything pushed to the limit... 🤯

My son is similar we have a routine now of him setting some time on alexa and once she beeps he goes to bed but tyring everything to stay up later like I'm hungry I'm thirsty even I feel sick the other night but he's also getting up earlier which is a bit of a killer x

ive just come on to check in with others and see how many are just surviving their 4 yr olds. Mine decides she doesnt want to get dressed, cannot be told no (we dont give in though) and basically thinks she can do and have whatever she wants. Then she hits and kicks. nothing seems to help and im just trying to keep it together. shes on and off when it comes to bedtime.
