@Julia they don't just dish council house out hun, sadly there is a big shortage , I was made homeless with my 2 older kids and I was pregnant, they didn't give a toss I was placed in a travelodge for 6months, I had to flat hunting daily! My caseworker changed 3x and I didn't get notified at all, even thou I kept emailing and calling etc. I would probably still be there if I wasn't so active with my searches ❤️ Also the council are now jist placing people anywhere!!
You could try speaking to citizens advice they can tell you if you're entitled to anything else in your situation
Firstly, You don't need to get rid of your phone, perhaps look for a cheaper contract ( After all your paying for the actual phone not the contract) Where are you currently based? Double check the LHA , If you haven't done so already some areas allow you to claim a DHP (Discretionary housing payment) which takes a couple of months to kick in, however it can help you afford the shortfall of rent untill you either up your hours at work or find cheaper accommodation 👌 Tbh atm it's hard times for myself as I'm not working but I still have a phone 🙃 that I can use for the Internet etc - This day and age everything is done online.... So whoever told you to get a brick i think is stupid.... I mean even to check UC ... it's online?? Does this lady expect you to visit the library daily if you had to?? Also considering your at ya nansa the council won't see you as an emergency as you have a roof, So you may have to get her to write a letter stating she wants you out etc x
I would speak to your local council housing team and say you’re going to be made homeless by your nan. See what they offer. I won’t get rid of your car but I would look at what expenses you could cut down on and try and save up a bit 2 k or sum thing for when do get offered a place .
Honestly simple art pieces sell for brilliant money on eBay. (And I mean simple, like a4 paper and a pencil, make a few scribbles). What we might think is awful a silly billionaire somewhere thinks it’s great
You need your Nan to right a letter saying that she is kicking you out - therefore making you homeless. You need to go to your local council and talk to the housing team and where to go from there, you will have a few forms to fill out etc. They may place you somewhere a little way away until you get a house. You can also speak with citizens advice who can tell you what you’re entitled to and how to get help/find housing. Wishing you all the best x
@Elle (i can't see waves) I know it’s ridiculous she said use public transport to access internet.. she wasn’t very nice she said if I’m desperate I need to save as much money as I can get for now Also I did initially get thrown out, with my daughter I had my car packed but the emergency women I spoke with said because my nan had thrown me out because of how I spoke to her it would be making myself intentionally homeless so I pleaded with her to let me back till I can find somewhere, they said if I’m intentionally homeless they’ll get social services involved and I shit myself So now I’m just staying in my room; not leaving it at all scared to upset my nan I’m scared or I don’t find somewhere asap I’ll be in shit
@Jay they said I can apply for social housing which can be a year or more wait or get on the look for private rent, which I’m doing but universal credit are not being easy with helping me with knowing how much they’d cover they say it’s housing job then housing say uc job, they also said I won’t . Be able to afford private rent so I need to get a job but my baby is only 10 months !!
Get a job put baby in nursery 30 hours free childcare
Why don’t u try for a council house??? I mean they will house you if you’re getting kicked out of relatives!!
