Does he ever sleep for longer than 35/45 mins? How old is he? X
My daughter is 2 so I’m not in this group it just showed on my feed lol, but sleep improved for us at 6 months when she started on solids x
@Alexandra so 35/45 mins is his limit! I have tried to lengthen his wake windows, but it does nothing to lengthen the nap. And I feel cruel forcing 2 naps on him when he sleeps for such a short time. I have been weening for the last 3 weeks and thought this might help but it hasn’t. He can put himself to sleep, in his bed and ours. But he’s not very good at it. (Normally takes 15 mins of playing and then about 5/10 mins of soothing himself and complaining. He’s 6 months and 1 week
@Soph my baby does rubbish naps (my forst did too) but they are OK at night. So it is possible to have one and not the other. It's good that he is able to fall asleep independently. I would say that's the first step. Does he do this for night time too? And how do you respond to night wakings?
He does it at night, but sometime it’ll end in a meltdown and sometimes it’ll end in sleep. Night wakings are mostly butt pats and shushing, or on the boob. Depending on how late into the night or how bad the wake up is.
I think it lasted about 3/4 days here 😅 my last baby however it was up until 20 months
@Alana oh my days. I pray this isn’t the case for me. My body feels like it’s about to shut down I’m so tired 🥱
I want to know this too! We are only 3 weeks in but I’m so tired. He usually can put himself to sleep at bedtime and for some naps but when he wakes in the night he can’t and is very angry about being awake. He wakes every hour or two and I don’t know how much longer I can do this for.
