I am 26 weeks pregnant and for the past 4 weeks I’ve struggled with pelvic girdle pain. I am a SEND teacher so up on my feet quite a lot, my work are very supportive and have told me to sit down whenever I can - take breaks etc. I also have low blood pressure & low iron so keep having dizzy spells / constant nausea waves. Last Friday I nearly passed out at work so came home. I have self cert for this week just to give myself time to rest but I always get a guilt feeling for taking time off 🫣🤕

Have they done a risk assessment for you? They legally need to do one for you and they should change your working conditions if needed.
The acas website has a good bit on this!
Your health and wellbeing (and baby's) are really important so don't feel guilty

They have done a risk assessment! But I am a panicker & worry. I am counting down the days to go on maternity leave 😂🥲

I am in a similar situation as you. HoD in a secondary school & I am struggling massively. I do have other medical conditions affecting my spine & hip as well as PGD, placenta previa & low amniotic fluid levels. I was beside myself when I found/ realised that I couldn’t be in work. We always think about the kids don’t we? 😊
But we need to remember to take care of ourselves & our babies, that’s what I am telling myself everyday! Plus, if you end up « overdoing » it, you could hurt yourself.
I have been off for two weeks now & it’s tough. I’m keen to be back in, at least for some of my hours but my workplace is unfortunately not currently supportive at all.
Feel free to message me, we are not too far from each other! xx

so sorry they’re not being supportive! They have to put something in place for you though legally to support you. It’s so difficult. 😥 but we’re doing the right thing for us & our babies! Xx

thank you for your kind words 🤍
It’s definitely a bit of a mess at the moment but I have a fab union rep who’s trying to move mountains for me & I have a lot of medical evidence to « back me up » too so there will hopefully be a positive resolution to this issue 🤞🏽🤞🏽
