I don’t know if to change to it! So she was on cow and gate but it was making her constipated changed her too sma but that was making us sick now she’s on aptamil but she a colic baby so not sure what to do lol xx
You’re gonna want to just be conscious of the ingredients…that’s the most important part. If it’s full of corn syrup solids, vegetable oils, gums/emulsifiers, or if it’s GMO corn or soy (full of glyphosate), then it’s absolute trash and will compromise the gut lining. I know it’s sucks but if you’re going the formula route, it’s best to just shell out for the good stuff. The cheaper brands should be criminalized for some of the stuff they’re adding to their newborn products.
@Amy-Rose yeh totally get it I was the same! we did cow and gate first but it did make him quite sicky after feeds so moved to this. He did suffer with colic and a gripe tummy and I asked the health visitor if we should try anything else and she said to stick with it as changing back and forth can cause more upset. By about 8 weeks old he did settle down with the gripe
If you want Aptamil slightly cheaper Lidl sell it for about £8 something for a 700g tin. I used it with my son and it was perfect. There are strict rules and regulations in the UK around first baby formula which is why you’ll never see them on offer. The reason why Lidl can sell this cheaper is because you are buying less they sell the 700g tin but if you go to any other major supermarket like Tesco Asda Sainsbury’s etc they sell an 800g tin for £12.50
@Amy-Rose, my baby girl was on cow and gate and got colic and a bit of constipation. We changed for Cow and Gate - Colic &Constipation, and it did wonders. I'll change it only when she'll need formula n 2 as she's still on the n1. We could consider a cheaper formula then.
For colic—try making a tea out of fennel seeds and use a dropper to administer before and after feedings…IT CHANGED OUR LIVES. My first born was so colicky and this remedy was told to me by a Romanian Babushka. I tell all my new mama friends about it bc it’s such a game changer.
We use it have done from.being a newborn. Had no issues with it. We used colic drops in his milk until.he was about 5 months old when it subsided xx
I gave this my baby when first born she loved it. We’re on aptamil now due to there being no Aldi’s close to us plus her poos we’re like pebbles but I thought she liked it
Yeah I’ve used this since day one, same ingredients as aptamil as we was gonna buy that x
I loved this formula I’d defo go back to this if I had another x
All my nieces & nephews have used this milk so this is what I have purchased for my baby, due in a month x
@Steph⚡️ luckily in the Uk formula laws are incredibly strict and none of them have rubbish in 😊
@Amy-Rose we were on cow and gate with my son but it gave him gerd so was advised by paramedics then drs to change his milk We switched to aptamil but brought this because of the price of it. Its the same ingredients so if you cant get hold of it for whatever reason then you can get aptamil. I found it handy becaise I could biy the aptamil ready made bottles if I needed them
I was told by my midwife this was the closest to Aptamil x

Yes my daughter has been on it for almost 6 months
We’ve always used it for my almost 10 month old and it’s worked just fine :)
We used it along side the aptamil premade, and had no issues.
Baby formula regulations are so tight in the Uk it’s virtually all the same stuff I BF so I havnt had to check but what I’d do is Read ingredients and compare nutritional contents table
I bought a tub of this as my boy is on Aptamil and seen this was half the price nearly but I have yet to give it him as I am so nervous about trying it and giving him belly ache 🫣
I started my baby boy on Aptamil, moved over to Mamia as it’s way cheaper and he struggled to keep it down, it was slightly too heavy a formula for him so moved back to Aptamil
@Emma wow I didn’t know that! I’ll have a look thank you! X
I did and if you read the ingredients it’s literally 1 ingredient different to aptamil so should be fine!
@Steph⚡️ I’ll have a look sounds stupid where do you get the seeds from? C
Thank you xxx
@Steph⚡️ UK formula is extremely tightly controlled and every single one on the market contains the same core ingredients and nutrients and for that reason the cheaper ones on the market are the same as the more expensive. If they weren't, it would be illegal to stock them on UK shelves. It's also why other countries will pay people to send them formula bought in the UK overseas for their kids. Every single one is nutritionally identical as the other, regardless of brand. The only differences being in formula such as "hungry baby milk" etc that will use a different type of protein that is digested differently by a babies gut. For example hungry baby formula uses Casein protein which is harder for a baby to digest and therefore they're not hungry as soon because it's digested slower.
My lad was on this. Only moved him to the formula from lidl as they are they stage 2 follow on formula. There was no difference between lidl or aldi formula
My health visitor actually told me all formulas are pretty much the same. I suggested I had this and she said that's fine, save yourself some money as it's regulated. For £5.99, I am not going to complain!
My little girl started on Aptamil and I changed her over to this around the 4 month mark - we didn't notice any changes at all & still used Aptamil premade bottles out and about which was super handy😊
I used this with my boy and my sister also used it with her 2 kids baby milk is so expensive and aldi brand lidl brand and atimal are all meant to be the same along with gow and gate
Yep I use it for my little boy never had any issues with it and he gets on well having it since he was 2 weeks old now 14 weeks and has about 6oz per bottle
