Discovered my little boy's first tooth has come through today - whilst he was breastfeeding π was not expecting that!
My first didn't get any teeth until he was over 8 months old and by then I had stopped breastfeeding him. Any advice on how to deal with/cope with the biting is very welcome! π

I stopped bf already but my stepmum told me that all her kids (sheβs had 7) only bit her once. Once is enough with how you react, they donβt tend to do it again π€£
This is good news then π fingers crossed because I don't think my nipples would handle it again π

Make sure you have a good latch. It os quite common for the latch to become a bit lazy and not as deep. If they have a good latch (like then they are newborn) it's really hard to bite.
Also od you feel they are biting, don't pull away, do the opposite, bring closer to the boob.
thank you I didn't know this! He has gotten a bit lazy with his latch at the minute because he has a bit of a stuffy nose so hopefully it will improve once his cold clears!
