Hi, it took about 1-2 weeks but it decreased my milk supply after that. My supply only increased when I was on the medication. But that’s just my experience with the meds.
@Jess i’ve just been prescribed a 100 pack by my doctor bc ive been having to pump and give bub bottles lately bc shes not getting enough from boob and gets super frustrated so im hoping it starts working soon bc i miss the bond of breastfeeding haha. how many did u take at a time? dr said to take 1 , 3 times a day but said if i want i can take 2 x
@Prita You have to stay on the medication for your supply to continue being up. Did you stop taking it after a couple of weeks?
Hi there! I have had it for both my daughters, currently on it again with my 2 month old and has really helped my supply for sure! Both times I was about to give up on bf at around the 1 month mark, but then the domperidone ended up helped so much each time… I would say I noticed a real difference after a couple of weeks of taking it :)
@Jess i was on it for 4-6 weeks. Dr didn’t want me taking it for a long period.
@Sarah i gave up around the 1 month mark with my son bc my supply had dipped so much but im trying my hardest to make it go back up this time around, this is day 2 on the tablets and so far not any difference. i did build up a freezer stash in the first few weeks when i had the most milk so im glad i did that bc if i didn’t then id be stressing more about the whole situation 😅
@Prita Ohh okay, that would explain it then. I’ve been on it for a year now and I haven’t had any issues.
@nicole I take it 3 times a day (one each time) and it works well for me 🙂
@nicole ohh that’s fair enough, I was in a similar boat this time around, but my daughter is a real comfort feeder so lucky my supply did manage to go back up… I took the tablet 3 times a day and maybe after about 2-3 weeks i noticed a difference for sure, with my first I was about to keep up bf for 5 months which was awesome seeing as I was about to give up after 1 month… fingers crossed it helps with your supply 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Some doctors will only prescribe it for 4-6 weeks. It increased my supply in just over a week, but same... it decreased after I stopped taking it and doctor wouldn't prescribe more. My bub had kind of given up on breastfeeding by then so we had to transition fully to formula
Yes, I’ve been on domperidone since not long after my daughter was born and it has been a lifesaver! It probably took a few days-a week to fully kick in but I would definitely recommend it. It literally doubled my supply.
