Hey ladies, my a week old is getting hid first shots on Friday morning. What should I be expecting at the appointment and how long after the injections was your baby 'out of sorts' ?

Just had ours last week!
My baby girl started crying as soon as she got the shots (probably due to the shock). I gave her a bottle right after and that calmed her. She slept most of the day and wanted to be held. I felt like she was in pain so we gave her Tylenol in the afternoon which helped a lot even if she hadn’t developed a fever. She was ‘back to normal’ that night!
Good luck!!!!

Aww I'm honestly so nervous, hearing him cry out of pain is gonna break my heart

They talked me through what everything was for and then did the shots super quickly; it’s hard but for the best in the long run! I gave calpol immediately after as recommended and he just slept a bit more than usual. A good recommendation is to have them in pants / a short legged romper so you aren’t faffing with redressing and can immediately have a cuddle!

My little one just had her first set, they were in her thighs. So I was cuddling her as they gave the shots, it was a heartbreaking cry but it was only for about 10 seconds and after a bounce and some reassurance she stoped crying, was the same for the other thigh. Gave her some calpol as soon as we got home and she took a bottle. She then slept for about 4 hours, she didn’t want to take a bottle or boob after that but had some more cuddles and another dose of calpol then went back to sleep. Have her the last dose before bed and she took some boob. She’s been a little fussy the past few days but didn’t need anymore calpol then the 3 they recommended.
