Dummy

Hi all, my lg still has her dummy for bed but I really want to get rid of it now. She doesn’t nap in the day, so it’s only at bedtime, but I don’t want it to have a negative effect on her teeth. Does anyone have any tips on how to do it? I’ve mentioned the dummy fairy and she gave me one of her dummies (she has 2, one of them for back up) and said she keeps one and the dummy fairy can take the other 😂 Not quite what I was going for but at least there is only one left now!

Might not be any help to you or somethng you want to do but we swapped our bedtime dummy for iPad in bed. He doesn’t have his iPad in the day so he was excited for it😂

I have a now 10 month old too, so it was a win win at bed time. My 1st would go to bed with his iPad as I put my youngest to bed 😂

I snipped the tip of my daughter's dummies off when she was 2.5 years old. She threw them in the bin because they didn't work any more and she didn't like them. She was upset for a bit but I just kept offering her the snipped dummies and letting her know that they were all we had x

I did the dummy fairy and just said that now your old enough she comes and just takes them away to give to another little boy or girl who needs it so far worked a treat

Thanks for the tips everyone 🙂

I did the dummy fairy she done a colouring sheet asking the dummy fairy to collect her dummies and she told me what she wanted the dummy fairy to bring her in exchange. We out the colouring and dummies out before she went to bed and in the morning i put what she had asked for out with a certificate. The colouring and certificate i just printed off of google x

Health visitor told us to took it away and replace it with some sleeping toy. It was complicated for couple of nights but then it worked. You can find a toy that she really likes and replace it.

Aw thanks all. We did it. Dummy fairy has taken her dummies 3 days ago. Her sleep has gotten so bad now though. She’s struggling to fall asleep without it. She has her teddy and taggy but she is taking a long time and messing around at bedtime now. I’m hoping it gets better and she starts to fall asleep as quick as she used too 🙈
