Baby cot or next too me crib

Hey guys, I already have a baby bed/cot set up in my room from my 3 year old who has just gone into his brothers room. All cleaned, on the highest setting. This bed is quite close to my bed anyway. Do I still get a next too me crib? Never thought of this before? Is it necessary to have both or is there is reason i should have both? Thanks

Hornstly up to you, if you feel the need to get a next to me crib you should .

The only reason I’ve gone for a next to me is for lazy ease in the middle of the night but you absolutely don’t need one x

There’s nothing to say you need a next to me. The only guidance is that baby needs to be in your room which is sorted. The only thing I would say is my daughter hated her next to me as a newborn because it was so big so your baby might not like the amount of space in a crib. But every baby is different!

I am having a next to me crib as I'm having a C-section so think it will be easier. Never had one with my other two, just had a moses basket then at 5/6 months into a cot. If you do just use the cot maybe get a baby nest as big cots can be daunting but all up to you

I went straight to a large cot with my first and she was fine. Planning on getting another cot for my second. First will have only just turned 2 so is still in her cot and not ready for a bed yet.
