Colposcopy 6 weeks pregnant!!
I had a smear in March and it has come back HPV positive with mild cell changes. I have been invited for a colposcopy next week when I’ll be 6+3 weeks pregnant.
I am being told by the hospital to still attend but a part of me just can’t believe it can be safe so early on. I’m absolutely terrified of it causing a miscarriage 😭
Anyone got any positive experiences with this?

I didn’t know I was pregnant when I had the same thing done. I was about the same gestation as you are now give or take. That pregnancy is a healthy 18 month old boy now xx

I was invited for a colposcopy for when I was 8/9 weeks. They ended up just doing a visual inspection with their cameras (no biopsy) and determined nothing “looked sinister” so we’re happy to wait until after my boy arrived. I had it when my boy was 3 months and everything was fine.
Take through with a midwife maybe. I’m not sure how it works in different areas but maybe a doctor can advise? What I also didn’t realise is that I had implantation bleeding too which I mistook for bleeding from the procedure. I may have even been earlier possibly, not sure when implantation bleeding happens exactly to judge. Seek advise from a professional first hand, that should either put your mind at rest or give you a better insight xx
