Mum guilt
Please assure me I'm not a bad mother. Woken up this morning to a bad back. Now I'm just sat on the sofa with support to the back watching my daughter play by herself. She has come and brought one of her toys and sat by me on the sofa to play. I will of course tend to her needs which wil just take some extra time to do.

It's lovely that she can play on her own near you, or with you while you sit. Rest up and hopefully you'll be feeling better soon but look after yourself :)
They're absolutely fine playing on their own for a bit ... It promotes independence and helps them to learn how to occupy themselves. Doesn't make you a bad mum we all need a minute sometimes just to rest up!

i second this, if you’re child is content they’ll be happy playing by themselves, and might come over once or twice more for reassurance you’re still there. My child would terrorise my entire flat if he knew i wasn’t looking 😂 but when im watching he’ll happily sit and play with his toys x
