If the older one is coughing and sneezing it's likely the baby will catch it any way so I wouldn’t worry about keeping them apart, especially of that might impact bonding. I just lived with the reassurance that I was breastfeeding so protecting the baby as we were both being exposed to the germs
There is probably no way around it and the baby may end up sick as well. But being as it's just a snotty nose, could just be allergies!
If you're breastfeeding. Hopefully you'll catch it first and give antibodies to the baby so baby doesn't get sick. If not breastfeeding it's inevitable
I’m in a similar boat and had the same questions, but I think it’s just about impossible to keep them totally separated.. I just hope for the best to be honest. Luckily we made it past the first 8 weeks which is most dangerous for baby to get sick so I at least feel better about that
Thank you everyone for replying. @Rachel yes I m exclusively breastfeeding as well so that keeps me a bit positive. @Alaina My bub is 11 weeks now and whenever he sneezes I just keep my fingers crossed as u said hope for the best:)
We go with your husbands logic really. It's not like we push the older one to be all over the little one and purposely infect them but they are going to catch colds etc anyway
