Nursery settling in

How long did it take for your LO to settle into nursery. My LO officially started in April and does Monday and Friday. Hes still struggling with settling in (probably doesnt help that weve had bank holidays falling on nursery days aswell). Hes very clingy wont let staff put him down (which makes it hard for them 1:3 ratio of kids) hardly eats there and will have milk. I usually drop him around 9/:30 pick him up at 3pm. The last 2 times ive dropped him hes cried so much hes thrown up (today they asked me to pick him up at 10:30 am) Im not how long to give it for settling in. Its so hard to juggle this and work. I feel like i cant comit to work properly

It took us around 6 weeks

It isnt long enough. How long it takes depends on many factors How often do they go? 2 days is barely anytime. Especially as those days are 2 and 3 days apart. How often have they been away from you? How independent are they are home? How much do they socialise with other children?

A 9 month old child who goes for 6 weeks 4 days a week, with 2 siblings, whose always at a baby class weekly.. will likely settle quicker than a 2yo child who goes for 6 weeks, 2 half days a week, has mostly had contact naps and cosleeps.. and no real interaction with other kids. They w get there in their own time. My kid settled in about 4 weeks going 3 days a week But starting last month 2 days a week 3 days apart? With bank holidays? Ur asking for a lot for them to be already settled.

Hes a co sleeping contacting napping LO. Im thinking about having him in another day just to familiarise himself. I dont expect it to happen quickly for him but im more wondering if its months and months at what point do i pull the plug (if it gets to that)

Hi we also started in April and I found it got better last week after I started telling him a string of compliments at drop off how I'm so proud of him he is strong and kind ans the others like him etc. To build his confidence! Worked for my partner as well who did drop off the other day (also 2 days per week)

Okay this is good to consider.. months no maybe 6 to 8 weeks.. if u can afford another day 100% do it. But also staff not being able to put him down for 6 to 8 weeks means nothing. They gotta do what they gotta do for him
