It’s not massive it’s just there if that makes sense. I just hate the thought of having to wait a month my docs were just like yeah routine and palmed me off 😭x
I would go to see a women’s health physiotherapist, they will likely know more than your GP and should be able to let you know your options and what treatment may be able to help. You can seek one privately or via nhs. But likely wait for the service on the nhs. Please don’t be embarrassed
@Rachel do you know if I have to go through the gp for the women’s health physiotherapist? I can’t afford it privately unfortunately. Thank you it’s just not what I expected because I did all my pelvic floor exercises and thought I was okay didn’t expect it 6 months after 😭 x
I went to the GP about this 3 months ago now and was told I don’t have one. When I clearly do. She said it was normal postpartum but this is also my second baby and had nothing like this with my first. I’m tempted to go back and see someone else x
@Rachel yes definitely I would, the thing is you know your body and where your lumps and bumps are so if it’s not right get a second opinion! Has it got worse? X
I wouldn’t say worse but it’s definitely not really improved 😭 and I’ve been doing pelvic floor exercises x
I self-referred to a women’s health physio on the NHS and was given an appointment 3 weeks later. She gave me an internal and external examination, asked all sorts of questions, and gave me all sorts of exercises after confirming a grade 2 prolapse. It wasn’t pleasant but it was fine. Please don’t be embarrassed, she reckoned 50% of women have prolapses, it’s just not talked about. In France women have appointments with the women’s health physio as standard after giving birth because it’s so common x
@Fran Hi, sorry to jump on but where did you find details of how to self refer please x
Thank you I’ve just referred myself so hopefully I will get an appointment soon rather than waiting for the GP and potentially being a long wait x
@Rachel hi, sorry for the late reply, we’re on holiday! I just googled our local nhs trust and post birth prolapse physio or something, it was really straightforward. I’m based in north Bristol xx
Don’t be embarrassed, it’s so normal. If it’s minor, pelvic floor exercises can help bring it back up x
