Postpartum and TTC

Our first baby is 11 months old. We would really love to have another one but my period is not yet back 😣 I’m still breastfeeding I’m 34 and my hubby is 44 so we are desperate to succeed in TTC before we both reach our next ages as so many risks increase once the next ages begin. Any help from anyone on how we can make this happen?

Unfortunately whilst breastfeeding it's extremely hard to ovulate!

@Breeze so is the only way to achieve this to stop breastfeeding?

I started weaning but my baby doesn’t eat very much - also the main way my baby calms down or goes to sleep is via breastfeeding 😫 But I guess I need to find a way to stop breastfeeding then as we do want to have our second and last one

It's hard to ovulate whilst still being pregnant but not impossible. Just look for signs of ovulation. It's awful as you want to continue breastfeeding journey

I’m still bf my 19 month old. We conceived last cycle and I’m 5 weeks pregnant. It can happen!

@Rosie congratulations 😍 were you trying, if you don’t mind me asking? Also, if you were trying - did you do anything to make it happen?

Yes we were! Period returned last September. But only tracking ovulation since March. I took ‘ovum’ tablets to help me ovulate x

So your period returned while you were still breastfeeding. Had you reduced the feeds?
