Breast milk feeding advice

Pumping runs and is ruining my life. I want to transition my baby to formula and solids. He is 7M and doesn’t like purées he always spits them out and shuts his mouth. When I fed him 0.5oz of enfamil in a bottle mixed with 5oz of my breast milk he projectile vomit 4 times back to back all over my kitchen. Before then I tried giving him some kendamil about a month prior to that incident and he was super gassy, fussy, and had terrible blow out poops.

I feel sad that formula is hurting him in these ways. But my milk supply is dropping and I’m losing my sanity finding ways to increase it again.

Please help!

May be worth speaking to a health care professional? Maybe there's something in the formula that he's allergic to and he needs a specific type?

Did you add the formula straight to a bottle of breastmilk? The formula should still be made with water as instructed and then you add the breastmilk to it. (Sorry if I misunderstood what you said)

hi Sarah I made a 0.5oz of enfamil formula (powder +baby safe water). And mixed that combination with 5 oz of my breast milk in a bottle.

Would you be interested in baby led weaning? They eat whatever you eat just in non choke-able pieces baby can hold. I would recommend the solid starts app, you can look up any food & how best to serve & introduce to baby.
My son appears to be self weaning in this way & seemingly only wants a full milk feed to fall asleep now 😭

hi Jocelyn if you don’t mind sharing how many times a day does your baby eat solids & drinks milk? Also how long did it take to develop this routine?

I will look into the start solids app. Thanks!

He’s kind of fallen in with my toddlers food routine.
Baby will nurse in morning so he’s full for our morning outings. (Example, feed at 9, the 20 minutes each side. So we can be out around 10-11 no fuss, by 11 it’s about that 2 hour since last feed mark. Toddler & baby will usually want snacks, offered snacks. Can hold them til about lunch time like 12 or 1.
I’ll offer to my 7 month old to nurse or I’ve pumped bottles too as he wants to be looking around more while eating. Offering milk or bottle before meals so they don’t get overly frustrated during baby led weaning, as they want the food quickly to fix their hunger.
It’s really fun! 🤩 & adorable. They teeth on it too & they love it, helps cut their teeth. & gives them lil self confidence 🥹

Babe will have full nurse for nap time around 2:30-4:30, & offered throughout the evening as needed until bedtime at 8:30. Full 45 minute feed for bed, & he’s asleep even when I join the bed at 2 AM. 😅

Usually your supply drops around 6-7 months…mine did and I was frustrated trying to get my supply up. Honestly Pumping was the bane of my existence so at that time I stopped pumping and just put her on my breast and she was still getting full even though my supply dropped. And also she didnt like purées either. I had to just blend up the food I cooked for dinner she wanted something with seasoning and she ate it no problem. But she didnt start eating fr until 8-9 months

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

Not drinking

I’m going crazy. Baby born at 2.26kg. Slow to put on weight. This last week hasn’t put on any. Been trying to feed him at night and he’s not interested at all. Fast asleep. During day he will have 5 minute gulps and that’s it. He don’t cry for milk. I’ve got to keep offering to him. I try to offer it every hour but I don’t know what I’m doing. HV said nutrition comes after 5 minutes so I should pump first and then give him. I find it so hard. I tried to pump one boob nothing came. The other abit came. Tried giving him express he’s not interested in that too. Sometimes he will go for a longer a feed but not long at all. He’s 4 months and is currently 5.46kg. I have no family or friend support here and wish I had a cook, cleaner and nanny to help with everything so I can concentrate on the little one. I don’t know what’s wrong with him but I’m loosing it. It doesn’t help that my also stressed generally about my relationship and life circumstances. Any advice that will work. Any comfort you can give. I’m fed up. Is this regression - not feeding. He’s fast fast asleep. I’ve been trying to push the nipple in but that mouth is closed shut. I took some clothes off. Changed his nappy but he’s still asleep. Please help

Am I wrong?

I’ve been wanting to add more garden beds to my garden. Husband says “hey do you want to go to Home Depot to get that wood for the garden beds.” Cool I’m excited I’ve been wanting to get this done for awhile.

We get there and we’re picking out wood and I make 2 comments about how I don’t like how 2 pieces of wood look that he picked out. And he says if you’re going to be this picky then u can do this yourself.

I literally made 2 comments and mind you I’m the one paying for the wood.

I felt dismissed and like my opinion didn’t matter and if I wanted to have an opinion then I need to do it myself. Like what?

It was rude and not okay. Am I wrong? Am I overreacting?

He thinks it was fine that he said that.
