How much hair? Is it really noticeable? Are you still taking prenatals?

Give it time approx 18months. Nothing can be done.

I need to know too. I lost so much with my daughter and I just started to get it back but I’m about to give birth again. I’m terrified lol

Biotin helps

I would maybe get a shorter haircut to keep your hair from getting weighed down. I remember when this happened to me. I lost so much hair, I started getting big knots because I don’t brush my curly hair till wash day (which was hardly happening)

Mostly just give it time. Rosemary oil before shampooing it is something I did

Castor oil, scalp massages and vitamins.

A good blunt cut if your hair allows it. I had my second daughter in the June and my eldest daughter turned 3 in the October. I luckily pre babies had fine hair but lots of it. Especially after my second baby I lost so much. Even putting a brush through it would bring a load out. I found a good blunt cut helped me give that illusion of thicker hair and did everything to promote hair and scalp health! Got detangler hair brushes, silk pillowcases, bought scalp scrub and brush, a hair oil bottle and made my own hair oils to run through it which I would sleep in, took collagen and biotin. 6 months on, almost a year after having my youngest my hair is strong, with lots of new growth in places. It’s definitely a long game really taking care of hair again x

All it is is a waiting game. While you're pregnant your hormones cause you to stop shedding like normal, then a few months PP you shed that year's worth of shedding all at once, like over a month or 3.. then, it all starts to regrow at roughly the same time. I jokingly, painfully refer to mine as my "mom layers" don't waste your money or time on any "remedies" that you wouldn't want to do regardless of the PP. In 6 months it'll be coming back in, although most women experience at least a little bit thinner than it has been prior to children. 🫂

Lost more 2nd time around but I started taking biotin the day 2nd was born and then a few months in I started taking high quality collagen. You have to just deal with all the loss as nothing can stop that and focus on new growth. Taken collagen for 7 months and biotin for a year now and sooo much new hair and growing quickly. In a couple years it will all be the same length and all the fuzz won't be screaming postpartum 😅

My daughter is 20 months and I’m still experiencing the worst hair loss everyday even just brushing it dry lots still comes out never mind washing it or dying it even worse! I’ve always had loads of long thick dark hair now it’s long thin and grey as I don’t dare dye it anymore! I hoped it would gradually get better and grow back thicker but it hasn’t, I take skin hair and nail vitamins everyday! I’m wanting to try for another baby but this puts me off so much I dread to think how much more hair I’ll lose again, I’m thinking of getting my thyroids checked as this can be a symptom along with others. Any advice is appreciated x

It’s supposed to happen. It sucks but what helped me is prenatal and postnatal vitamins. Biotin. Not washing it and not pulling it up. If I wanted to pull it back, I braided it loosely.

Hi. So this is what helped me. Remember how when you normally took a shower, there would be just a small amount of shed? Well when you’re pregnant, you get almost zero shed. And when you’re postpartum you get 9 months of shedding in just a few weeks to a few days. Some even months. It’s scary and it’s supposed to happen. And it’s different for everyone. But talk to your doctor if you’re getting any bald spots or it’s not slow down after a few months. Remember that this is 9 months of hair shedding all concentrating into now. And it is scary. But it does end and if you have a good hair dresser or doctor in your support team, it’s a lot less scary.

I asked my primary doctor for hair loss medication and he prescribed me minoxidil. It’s working great!
