Getting dressed and undressed

At what age do children learn to get themselves dressed and undressed? My daughter has worked out that she needs to go to the potty when she needs the toilet. However she has a total of 0 words so far so can't actually say anything to get my attention and doesn't know how to undress. So she quietly takes herself to the potty and does her business with her clothes still on. If I'm in the room and notice quick enough I can get normally her undressed and onto the potty in time I don't know how to teach her how to do her clothes

I think the motor skills required are probably still quite a far way off judging from my daughter, but you know yours best. Mine is very talkative - so will say the words but can’t get herself there let alone take off any clothes. At home you could just go without bottoms if she’s reliable in going to the potty herself. Or wear a dress for example. In the warmer weather you could also try practicing with loose shorts. In the meantime I’d keep talking to her whilst she’s using it - wee wee, poo, potty - to keep encouraging these words to come!

My 3 and a half year old is just getting hang of dressing and undressing himself. I’m trying to get my 18 month old to learn to put her shoes and coat on at the moment. So based on my children 😂 I’d say a little way off. Amazing that yours is already using the potty though, I’d agree that going without pants / nappy as much as possible might be the way forward.

My 5 year old has just mastered getting dressed for school in the mornings & dressed & undressed for PE at school

My 3.5 yo will throw a fit if I ask him to put his socks on but my 18mo old comes in the room wearing leggings she's put on or a jumper, brothers socks and crocs etc. And honestly when my 3yo tries he can't seem to manage to master getting his socks on or pants will always be back to front or two legs in one hole but my 18mo old seems to just get it and everything will be in the right order too. There's no right or wrong time I guess.. I mean I imagine he'll work it out in the nearish future.. 😅
