Next level of mayhem unleashed 😣

Dear lord we've reached the next stage of mayhem. My toddler can now climb out of his cot when he wakes up in the morning rather than waiting for me to come get him 😭😭😭 I was woken up by the pitter patter of feet and then a sticky little finger shamelessly poking me in the eye saying 'wakey wakey mummy. Wakey wakey'. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He was so proud of himself. I would be too if he didn't wake up at 5.30 in the morning! He's done this 2 days in a row 😩😩😩 FIX IT JESUS. FIX IT.

Would he sleep better in a toddler bed?

@Nicola he sleeps fine- from 7 to 5.30. But he now knows how to escape

@Bim ah I see, not sure what to suggest then

Girl get a high baby gate on his bedroom door and take the side of his cot bed so there isnt any accidents

I was always told when they start to climb out the cot sides need to come off... I dread this day 😂😂😂 but I've started planning for it, we have the little owl wake up clock so she knows we come in when it's yellow (unless she's really upset obviously). I leave her favourite soft toy "watching over" her as she sleeps and usually she'll wake up and if it's early she will stand up and get the toy, then play quietly until we come in for her, although I appreciate she's probably the minority for being so chill 😂😂😂 when we come in we always point out that the clock is yellow now and say "yellow means hello!" Which she has learned to say as well. The thing about them having access to their room is that they do have some stuff to play with while they wait for a more reasonable hour! IDK if it works for everyone but the clocks exist which must be for a reason right? And it seems to work for ours at the moment. So it's worth a shot!

I would definitely remove the side of the cot for safety and ensure the room is safe too (furniture secured to the wall etc.) Not sure of the wake up calls 😅 but I’m sure he will learn soon x
