Feeding

Im A FTM, My babygirl will be 4 mos on the 20th lately everytime we feed it’s like I’m fighting w her to move her hands bc she I guess is trying to hold her bottle but knocks it out and gets extremely upset so idk what to do bc I don’t want to stop her from trying to learn how to hold her bottle but also I don’t want her screaming bc she Keri’s knocking the bottle out of her mouth. Any suggestions on how to help babygirl or I just have to let her go through the motions.

going through the same with my 4 month old, i give him a tether to hold while feeding that way his hands are busy

Have you tried side lying feeds? My daughter has become extra squirmy during feeds but side lying tends to help. It might help to go to a darker quiet place with less distractions for feeds too :)

i’ve been struggling with the same thing! it’s been about a week and honestly, my girl has gotten so much better. she still needs assistances but for the most part, she’s holding it! just support her but also, i would let her figure it out. i think babies tend to get frustrated because they want to do it but can’t seem to figure it out right away. you could try playing calming music or showing her dorys reef cam (if you allow screen time obvi) ❤️❤️ you got this mama!!

Depends what bottles you have but you could look at getting handles for the bottles. I know they do them for mam bottles.

Same here but mine is exclusively breastfed so idk what she’s trying to do 😭

my son likes to explore and put his finger in his mouth while nursing , sometimes i just let him but usually i don’t cause it hurt bc his nails are sharp.

@Andrea same here! Sometimes she’ll grab at me and it hurts! 😭
