How do I start or take measurements in order to take my child’s father to court. He helps financially but doesn’t stay with our child regularly. Only once a week and most weeks he misses and when he does it’s not even a full day just an hour before bedtime and drops him off early.
Or how did you go about setting a schedule?

You probably need to do mediation before court, they’ll help you with a schedule

Mediation is now the first step before court . Mediation can also help you apply for court for example if he doesn’t attend sessions set out for mediation. Come with evidence too! So mark out when he’s not attending visits & drop offs early etc . Atleast then you can also discuss this with mediation & they can help you discuss a plan with him if he attends & wants to be serious about co parenting . Always a message away! X

Are you in the UK? I had this issue with my daughter’s dad years ago. I spoke to a solicitor for advice as I wanted him to commit to a regular routine. They suggested mediation but also said it’s unusual for a parent to take the other parent to court to force contact, it’s usually the other way around. In the end my daughter made her own mind up and she hasn’t seen him for years now because he was so inconsistent. I hope you find a solution, it’s not easy x
