How are we managing these long wake windows before bed?

My daughter now seems to need 6.5-7 hours awake time before bed… even with her being woken by 2pm latest, that still means 8.30 or 9pm before she is ready for bed ☠️ At home I have been trying to get her to nap earlier, like 11.45am but at nursery its often 12.15pm by the time she goes down so I can’t really change that, and they aren’t keen on capping naps!

my little one is the same, i try to get him out after his nap, spend 1h 2 h if we manage in the park..getting him tired 😅

Oh my goodness I’m so glad you’ve posted, I’ve only just managed to get my daughter to sleep at 9.30pm. This is madness!! That’s a 7.5 hour wake window as I always wake her at 2pm as well. She only napped for 1.5 hours too. I honestly feel so down because I’m getting zero downtime. I used to be someone who’d go to bed at 9 and now I’m awake until midnight just to get a couple of hours to myself! 😩

We went through this phase a couple of weeks ago. Seem to of come out the other side now, honestly was starting to think that he didn’t need a nap anymore, which would of killed me off because he is so full of beans 24/7 lol xx We’ve been doing lots of outside play at least 3 hours if not more, definitely think fresh air helps them sleep xx

Glad its not just us, its so tough! She runs around all day long, virtually no screen time (a little tv maybe once a week but even then she doesnt sit… ) outside play everyday at nursery, and with the good weather we have been at the park everyday and sometimes twice! 😵‍💫

It’s the 5am wake ups for me 3 days running 😫

@CeeCee exactly the same here! She doesn’t really watch tv and is always outside! I keep shortening her nap but it doesn’t seem to be making any difference.

2 trips to the park a day or swimming seems to tire him out as well. Hoping this is just a developmental phase 🥲

We’re also going through a period of early wakes, and seeming to need a lot more tiring out! I wonder if they feel the same as us - much more sluggish in winter and rejuvenated by the longer daylight hours!
