Not in the UK x

We have infatrini peptisorb but that is a high calorie hydrolysed formula and eye wateringly expensive - we had to got through althera and ftt before being prescribed this one.

Similac alimentium you can get a prescription for it to save on cost if u dont have benefits

Not sure if you have in the UK, but nutramigen?

God I wish!

Not in the uk. A rapid cool is a must have for allergy milk

@Ceri-Ann sorry to jump on this post - how are you using the rapid cool for the allergy formula? We’re just starting!

@Hannah we do the hot shot method with nutramigen

@Gabrielle oo okay. Would you mind explaining that a little more?

@Hannah personally never used a rapid cool for nutramigen, it’s honestly the easiest formula to make up as you should be using room temperature water. I sterilise all of my bottles in the evening, fill all with the required amount of water and wait for them to cool to room temperature then just pop them in the cupboard. You’ve then got a full days worth of bottles for the next day to just add your powder to straight away and feed. We were originally using a prep machine for the hotshot and the water was still too warm which reacts with the formula and made my little girl poorly x

@Jade oh that sounds so easy! We were prescribed aptamil.

@Hannah ohh I’m not sure it’s the same with aptamil unfortunately, I think that has to be made the traditional way so a rapid cool would be your best bet! Nutramigen has something in it that is killed by hot water which is why you used room temperature but I’m pretty sure it’s the only formula you can make this way! X

@Hannah it depends what formula you’re on. Some need to be made with room temp water others can be made with the hot shot method. We’re on nutramigen so room temp water so I either cool the whole bottle of water in the rapid cool or I’ll fill the bottle with 4 ounces of pre cooled water before I leave and add 2 ounces of hot as my boys won’t drink it when it’s too cold. when we were using normal milk I’d cool about 4 ounces and make up the powder in 2 ounces. Because the water is all that goes in the rapid cool it doesn’t need sterilising

@Gabrielle if it’s nutramigen LGG it shouldn’t be done with the hot shot. The heat of hot water kills the good bacteria in it. It should be done with room temp water

@Gabrielle you don't need to use the hot shot method, it says to use cooled boiled water! Makes life SO much easier!
