Too much newborn sleep!?

How long are your babies sleeping for over 24 hours? My baby is just constantly asleep unless feeding, and I have to wake for the feeds every 3 hours or she’d sleep even longer! I’m worried it’s too much?

My baby is the exact same on some days, other days she will wake up and not nap for a good couple of hours. I wouldn’t worry, they need rest to grow and develop 🥰xx

Ours sleeps a lot And we dream Feed if he still sleeps don’t let him Go Longer than 4.5 hours without feeding I was the same Worried at first but midwife said it’s fine as their growing so now we take full advantage and sleep Too or get things done etc

Newborns are supposed to sleep 18 to 23 hours for the first 2 weeks then 2 to 8 weeks they can have 1 to 2 hour wake windows in the day as a guide. This is a guide however as for example my son is 6 weeks and 2 days within the 2 to 8 week period within 24 hour periods he's been awake for 7 hours with short naps here and there. 🫠 Also as long as they are gaining weight/above their birth weight, not born premature. Plenty of premature nappies, feeding well and no other health concerns you can let them wake you for feeds. X
