What’s like your current routine awake time to first nap ? X
@Jules exactly! so hard isn’t it, my lg isn’t sleeping through the night and wondered if it was her naps as nothing else seems to be working and if it’s the regression then it’s lasted a fairly long time🤣 she used to sleep through when she was a newborn!! but she refuses to nap longer than 30 mins at a time! x
@Amy she wakes up around 8, has her first nap around 10:30/11 but i tend to follow her cues to be honest! x
@Jenna I know it’s a bit hard to kinda follow a routine at this point as it constantly changes. I’d say maybe if she wakes up at 8 I’ll try and get down 10/10.15. I was finding my boy was getting overtired and that’s why he was only having 30 mins naps. Might work xx
Where is she having her naps? In the cot? Or on you? I found doing contact napping for one nap helped extend his nap time. He usually only naps 30 mins too x
We have 3 naps . Wake up 6.30 1st at 9am (around 1h) 2nd at 1pm (45min) 3rd at 4-4.30pm (30min) Sleep at 19.30
I honestly wing it. With my first I learnt if they refuse to sleep then they won't sleep no matter how hard you try, it stresses everyone out😂 we have about 2x 30 min naps maybe 3 at a push. Last one is around 4. Goes to bed at 7pm, wakes anytime between 2am and 4.30am for a milk and then back down till 7am. Milk is more like a dream feed though, once that milk hits his tongue he's out for the count 😂
@T✨ she has one in her cot and one on me, she definitely sleeps longer when she’s on me, but i personally don’t want her getting in the habit of sleeping on me too much as i find she struggles to sleep in her cot if she sleeps on me too much x
@Chloe i was winging it until now, im questioning her night time sleep as she can wake 2-5 times a night and wasn’t sure if it was to do with naps ect😩 so hard to navigate but hopefully we get there! x
funnily enough she’s slept for an hour and a half for her morning nap🤣 typical after i post this🤣
I don’t limit naps and I don’t control my day around them. Some days he will have 30 mins x3, other days he will have 2 hour nap at lunch. I’ve found it makes absolutely no difference to his night sleep. EBF so still wakes up average x3 per night anyway.
We wakeup around 7am Nap 1: 9:30-10:15 Nap 2: 1-2:30 (will have to settle after 45 minutes or so again) Nap 3: 5-5:20/30 i wakehim up depending on his 1st 2 naps bedtime is 8:30-45. He still wakeup at 11:30pm, 2:30am, and 5am and finally around 7am I only feed him at 2:30am though
Mine sleeps anywhere between 30mins to 2hrs. But I can't let her sleep that long. She hasnt slept through the night since 3 months and I think the naps are a huge contributer to that. Atm I found if she got 2.5hrs of naps she sleeps well, any more then she wakes up a lot 🥲
My girl has 30 mins (max) in her morning nap and an hour in her afternoon nap. She makes up for it at night though and sleeps 12 hours x

@Jenna Ah yeah the dreaded sleep regression! I spent several weeks stressing over her naps to the point where I was getting really down about it all, and I’ve now just accepted that she isn’t a good daytime sleeper, and I’ll take any downtime I can 🥲 she does all her naps in the cot or pram/car seat because I was getting so achy and stiff from sitting awkwardly when she did contact naps x
We’re on 30min naps too. He has 3. Usually wakes up about 7/8am and goes to bed at 6pm. So he gets more nighttime sleep than most babies id say but it makes up for the crap naps I think. He wakes up a few times in the night
My November baby still naps 25-45 minutes, 4 times a day. For ages I was really beating myself up about this but I’ve been looking into studies recently and have decided to live and let go a little. What I’ve learned is to see what little one’s temperament is like post naps, if she seems drowsy or upset, I try to put her back to sleep or continue the nap as a contact nap instead. If she doesn’t, then she’s rested enough and knows her body best. We’re in an age where we can over track and over analyse everything, but they’re all different and they’re humans not robots (easier said than done though, I still track all her sleep/feed/nappies) Also a selfish request…Just jumped on Peanut to say I’m working on a study for classes available to young babies and toddlers. If you have a *minute* please please considering filling it out: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DSN6ZS8 Thank you so much!!
My girl had had 6 naps today varying between 10mins and 30mins all at random times and no pattern. Driving me mad 😂😂 BUT she does sleep through from 7pm until 6am so I can’t complain. Just wanted to mention that it isn’t always connected to naps because she’s rubbish at that!! lol
I just take whatever nap I can get. Today's were 3 minutes at 10am. 30 minutes at 12.30. 15 minutes at 16.30 and then 1.5hrs 19.30-21.00 (i wasn't arguing with an over tired baby about when where or how she slept. She was back to sleep just after 22.00 and will be asleep until about 7/8am Usually, she will have 1x 1hr nap and 2x 30 minute naps. She gets up for the day around 7.30 am and is in bed by 9 pm. But I've been a bit lax of the get up time in the morning as my fatigue is awful and my iron levels are through the floor.
@Jaya hey, do you mind linking the studies? i’ve been really stressing and beating myself up about not being a tracker of naps and instead going with her cues so would be great to get some reassurance 😅
I find this so tricky too! My little girl tends to have a morning nap, an afternoon nap and then her latest nap is to end around 5-5:30. We do bath time at 7:30, to be in bed for 8pm, so we aim to have around a 3 hour wake window before bed. She sleeps through some nights and other nights wakes up once but will go back down after a feed. She’s probably averaging more like 1.5-2 hours daytime sleep but I’m the same as you, it’s not possible to let her have any more without shortening her wake windows which would defeat the object!
