Vomiting after calpol

Has anybody else had it where their baby vomits any time they're given calpol (regardless of how they're given it)?
I'm starting to question if she might have an allergy to it bit she never gets any other symptoms, other than being sick. She's starting to teeth so this is going to be horrendous if I can't give her pain relief

I know you’ve said regardless of how they’re given it but have you tried mixing it with her milk? If you have then I’m stumped !

Instead of calpol you can try teething gels? Ashton Parsons stick seems effective I find

I rarely give calpol for teething. We use ambesol or calgel on the gums. Ibuprofen also works so much better than calpol.

Have you tried an own brand different flavour? My daughter cannot stand the orange and used to react the same way. Also try the sugar version rather than sugar free as some babies are more sensitive to the sweeteners

LO would always push out calpol with his tongue id have to do it gradually now he is okay with it

When we were doing the vaccinations we were told to avoid calpol ahead of the appointment when we had the oral ones as they tended to spit it back up a bit- so not sure if it's reasonably common (age dependent)

Glad I'm reading this and thankful for the tips the other mums have shared here because our little guy (7 months) absolutely despises the taste of Calpol too and always spits it straight back out

If its branded calpol, I'd try own brand. I'm a nurse and have looked after kids allergic to the flavourings or an ingredient calpol use but were okay with own brand/unbranded paracetamol liquid

Thanks everyone, it's not that she spits it out. I give her it and then about a minute later she's sick. I meant by different ways of doing it so that it wasn't assumed I was squirting it to fast into her mouth causing her to vomit, I've used Chew dummies and everything. I used to do it in milk for my son but I can't get her to take any form of milk that's not direct from me, so mixing is out of the question for the moment. However, there's some great ideas here so I will definitely try some. Calpol was more for the temperature she seems to be getting from teething. And I will also look at own brand as its not something I ever would have considered but there's definitely something in calpol that is not sitting right with her.
Thanks again! Great help everyone 😊 xx

Yes my baby was always sick with calpol. We would give it and then maybe 10-30 mins after she would projectile vomit.
We found using a different brand paracetamol like Fennings works and using a spoon not a syringe worked for us

Just an update, bought a different brand and she isn't sick 🤩 thank you

When did you circumcise your baby?
If you DID NOT or DO NOT have a circumcised son DO NOT comment this post is not for you!

Did you wait a certain amount of time or have it done immediately?
Again respectfully, this is only for the parents who choose to do so.
opinions about how not necessary it is will not be appropriate for this post. Thank you in advance. 🩵

My boyfriend booked a trip for us to go to mexico for a week as my push present. I have severe anxiety leaving my 7 month old with my mom. I know she will be in good hands but she’s exclusively breast fed for the most part but accepts bottles just fine. i have all my pumping parts packed and will pump when baby normally eats but i don’t want baby to forget me or have latch issues when i return!! any mommas ever experience this?

Postpartum

I’m only 3 days postpartum (FTM) and already have extremely bad anxiety. I’m crying every night, as I think of another night of no sleep. My baby will not settle in his cot, he cries every moment we put him down unless in his chair rocker. So me and my partner are having to alternate after 3/4 hours of being awake with him downstairs. I’m trying everything to get him to settle. It’s a load of overwhelming stress. I’m 23, I was desperate for a baby and now I have one and feel completely useless. I miss it just being me and my partner.

When does it get better?

I was crying on the phone with the perinatal mental health team today and the lovely lady, bless her, kept assuring me that it gets better. I kept telling her I hope so because people have been saying that since having my LO and it just feels like it keeps getting worse. She assured me it gets better....

Crawling

Did anyone’s little one start crawling yet? I feel like we are falling behind but really have no idea. I’m trying to introduce more floor time but it’s been rough because of having hardwood floors and our 80 lb oblivious to life dog. I got us a carpet for the living room and trying to put the dog out more when the weather allows. She sits like a pro and will roll to get the things she needs😅 but no real signs of crawling yet.

Night time routine

Heya, my 3 week old daughter is currently exclusively breastfed and I’m not pumping. Can anyone recommend the best way to share the load with my partner? At the moment I’m doing all the feeds/burbs/settling and my partner is sleeping through which obviously isn’t sustainable, I’m trying to work out the best way to get him involved. Any advice very much appreciated!
