Help please

My son is 8 months old and idk how to keep up with feeding him 3 meals a day and giving him breast milk/ formula. I can barely feed myself more than twice a day. I feel so bad because we are also in a situation where we need to find a new place to live and I’m constantly stressed and I’m not sure what to do. ( Also I’m a new mom)

Is it that you lose track of time?

@JC its just the transition from just feeding him breast/ formula has been confusing. We get up pretty late in the morning so by the time we eat breakfast it’s almost lunch and by the time it’s lunch he’s trying to nap and he gets so tired he doesn’t wanna eat regular food just milk.

I think you can still do 2 meals a day at 8 months?

He doesn't need 3 meals yet so I wouldn't worry about it. I think they move to 3 meals closer to 10 months. Also could you start getting him up earlier to get into more of a routine?

I feed my baby 2 meals a day and milk for the remainder. She is 8 months, doctor said food is just to get used to eating, to learn to swallow and chew. Milk should still be the first source of food for her

@Lauren ok I was worried because I have had other moms talk about their kids eating 3 meals a day at this age. He put himself on this sleep schedule. He’s slept like this since a month old. He also sleeps really good at night.

What time is he waking?

@Lauren about 9:30 in the morning and by 12 to 3 it’s his nap time window and then he’s ready for bed by 8

you don’t have to do 3 meals a day yet! remember food before one is just for fun! i feed my daughter 3 meals a day sometimes and sometimes she just snacks. But milk first always. I find that meal prepping helps too. I meal prep egg/veggie fritters or banana waffles or pasta. makes it way easier to just warm it up real quick.

Also maybe wake him earlier to help w a better feeding schedule

My 8 month old sometimes doesn’t eat any meals, I wouldn’t worry

I wouldn’t stress too much about it. Some days my baby doesn’t get any meals. Other days she gets 3 meals. We prioritize our bottles. Remember their main nutrients is coming from breast milk/formula until they turn 1.

So my little gets up around 7am and he gets and 8oz bottle then he goes down for a nap around 9:30/10 (he gets a 6oz bottle before he goes upstairs for a nap) to 11:30/12 then he gets a 6oz bottle about 1/1:30 he gets lunch then he goes down for a nap around 3/4 then he’s up gets a 6oz bottle then around 5:30/6 he has dinner with us then around 7 he gets a 8oz bottle then a bath and bed (we stopped night feeds)❤️ I hope this helps alittle but a routine is very beneficial I personally only eat dinner (I’m on a calorie deficit) so it was hard at first because I was used to only eating once a day for over 6 years and sometimes I used pouches especially when we are on the go! It’ll get easier ☺️
