Positive then negative test

Five days before my period was due I took a pregnancy test. It said to check between 3 and 10 minutes I checked and it looked negative so I walked away from it. Then a couple hours later I looked at it again and it looked like there was a faint line but I’m wondering if it was just an evaporation line. The next morning, now 4 days before my period was due, I took another test and it was negative. Should I just wait until I actually miss my period and test again? I’m not sure if I’m testing too early or what.
