I’m so done 😭

I got yet another “thank you but no thank you” letter for a job/ fellowship. This is the longest employment gap I’ve had and with each rejection I think “I’m so f*cked”. My network is dried up or unresponsive and atp I feel my only option is to go back to school because ppl only want to help students or friends/family. Discouraged is not a strong enough word for what I am feeling rn.

What field are you in?

@Kim Arts- Museum collections. It’s the only thing I’ve ever done and I’ve always been able to pívot. I am thinking to maybe work in a short essay- publish Maybe do a shelved project It’ll take forever stopping to take care of the baby but slow and steady…

I know the feeling if you want u can message me I’ll tell you what helped me when I was at a loss

things are going to open up for you soon, are you willing to work somewhere outside of your preferred field?

Did you check out workforce 1, staffing agencies? There are career fairs, some are virtual, I have a fb group where I post lots of resources, I can provide you that as well.....the library has career services that are free......network and get on LinkedIn....dm if you can

@Britt staffing agencies I haven’t tried in a while. Will do thanks. I’m chronically on LinkedIn 😅 reaching out to my network is the first thing I did. Can circle back- may be more active. Please do send along FB info. Do you post any jobs in the arts/ museums or admin? Thanks for responding.

@Jessi thank you! Yes if it comes to that (which will be soon) but I’ve only ever worked in one field and would prioritize those listings.

Consider going back to school or do a trade .. you’ll get a career in 16-18 months .. until then, apply for as much work from home jobs as possible
