Mine is booked in for his first appointment when he'll be nearly 11 months. He has 6 teeth
My little boy hasn't been to the dentist yet & he is 3 đŤ¤
My son is 8 months on Tuesday had his first dentist appointment yesterday. He has two bottom teeth and apparently has the top 2 coming through too
My first (covid 2020 baby) actually didnât go until she was 3 years old! My son on the other hand (2023) went at 11 months old.
My little one started going around 7 months when his teeth started to come through. Even though he doesnât have full checks, itâs just good to get them on the books and used to the environment. âşď¸

9 months old! But I should have rang when she was about 7 months but life was hectic at that point so I couldnât make an appointmentđ¤Śđźââď¸
By a year old
My boy will be 14 months, itâs booked for end of July x
@Rachel is there a reason you havenât taken him yet?
Our dentist said to bring him as soon as he had teeth. He went for his first check up about 14 months so he did have a few teeth by then!
When there first tooth comes through about 6 months for my daughter then every 6 months after that
When we had our annual check up, he came along got registered and they had a quick glance đ

My two year old has been 3 times, starting from 8ish months when she got her first teeth.
5 months. My son got his first teeth through from 3 months.
18 months
I took my son when he was just about 6months and had no teeth, but it got him familiar with the dentist. I have another booked for when he is 1 as he has teeth now x
My little girl is 10 months got a dentist appointment scheduled next week x
10 months with my first, second baby will be just over a year at his first
@Bella i don't think she needs to give a reason to be honest, stuff happens.. you never know ,we haven't yet either and we plan to do so within the next couple of months... appointment times to get a dentist depending on where you live can be hard to get an appointment sometimes,I live in a village where a dentist appointment is hundreds if your not a NHS patient and that place doesn't even take NHS patients either..and some don't drive or can't
10months :)
@Holly yep I get all that but oral hygiene is extremely important and by 3 they will very likely have all their milk teeth and I think really they should have visited a dentist on a number of occasions by 3. Not to mention the fact this could really impact having a fear of the dentist which is extremely common hence why majority of people start around the age of one..
My HV said at our year review to book her in. But when I called my dentist said they donât see children until theyâre one a a half. Seems very dentist dependant x
@Bella had no choice but to take my daughter at 3 years old due to Covid & actually trying to get her into a dentist, sheâs 5 now, no problems with her teeth & isnât scared, if anything she gets excited to go see the dentist. My son on the other hand has been twice since he was 11 months old (heâs nearly 19 months old) and has hated every single time weâve gone, he just screams & cries. I personally donât think it really matters when a child goes to the dentist, just as long as they do go at some point & as long as youâre brushing their teeth twice a day then their shouldnât be any worry about their teethđ¤ˇđźââď¸ Just because YOU think a child should have seen a dentist multiple times by the age of 3 is YOUR opinion and a mum shouldnât be shamed for not taking their child until a later age. As a mother we all have different work loads & lots to remember so give a little grace yeah đ
@Jasmine Covid is a very valid reason not to go though.. if thereâs no reason apart from your working or you forgot itâs not really good enough. And itâs not ME who thinks they should have gone multiple times itâs literally what they advise? Yearly appointments from 1 years of age..
@Bella again, it really doesnât matter. Yearly appointments? No once every 6 months. Also you have to remember itâs actually very hard to get into a dentist. Be a little bit more considerate. There is no right or wrong way to parent!
My son is going next month and he will be 10 months x
@Bella you can still maintain their oral hygiene tho 𤣠all the dentist is likely to do is just have a look and that's it ,they won't do anything till most of there milk teeth are in ,as long as they are brushing twice daily , morning and bedtime there is really no rush ..and as for being afraid of the dentists most kids don't like dentists even if they where to visit often ..glad it's only up to us parents Aye....it's very challenging to get a simple dentist appointment...you would be very lucky to down where live ..of course I'd love to take her earlier but some really have no choice

@Bella and I'm sorry but who do you think you are? "It's really not good enough" well damn thanks đ some of us really try lol but many factors can make things challenging, just because you found it easy to just go and get an appointment doesn't mean everyone else will able to .
@Jasmine I was advised once a year by my dentist and HV. I mean there is a right and wrong way when oral hygiene could potentially be being neglected..
@Bella we do once every 6 months for my 5 year old & 18 month old (advices by the dentist) not really neglecting if your child teeth are brushed twice a day & arenât showing signs of decay and arenât being filled with sugar! Whatâs neglect is not brushing teeth twice a day in the first place!
@Bella my dentist hasn't sent me an appointment for him
@Rachel your dentist doesnât contact you.. you contact them you make the appts itâs down to you youâre the parent.. just like you would call and make an appointment for yourself? They donât just send you a message or a letter to say youâre due a check up.. thatâs not how it works?
@Bella actually, whenever I go to my appointment, they then make me a follow-up appointment, so yes, that is how it works with my dentist. They know my little boy is registered with them, so they should have called me to make him an appointment by now.
@Rachel you go to the dentist and when you leave yes you make a follow up appt.. they would never contact you to make the first appointment.. what if they never contact you are you just never going to take your child to the dentist? What if the dr never contacted you to book his immunisations would you just never of taken him?
@Bella the doctor doesn't contact me to book his immunizations.
@Rachel I would suggest calling the dentist tomorrow and booking your son an appt as it isnât the norm to have gone 3 years and never been seen. As you can see above literally every person has taken their child way before that age..
@Rachel I am sorry but I have to agree with @Bella here. A dentist and a doctor will not contact to make appointment. That is 100% on the parent!!
10 months and 1 years old
My son has his first appt tomorrow. Heâs 9 months next week đ
