During casting my lad wore footed sleep suits, and any clothes I wanted him to wear.

Its when they go into boots and bars dungarees, with poppers. And. Footless poppered sleep suits are the best for nappy changes.

Normal sleep suits with feet are fine during casting. For boots phase our favourite was Next footless zip up sleep suits (but this would also be fine during casting) - eg https://www.next.co.uk/style/su418260/aa6200#aa6200 . They are perfect as legs are relatively wide (so you can push them up to the top of the boot without it being tight) and the zips make them really easy to get on and off. Normal daytime clothes are usually fine - just avoid any trousers that are super tight/ not stretchy, as you’ll want something that will stretch over the cast and also that you can take off/put on over the boots without removing the boots.
We liked little sock co socks.

My son was born with right clubfoot in October, in Minnesota, so we did dressing for the cold right away. He wore pants, and long sleeve bodysuits or shirts. While he was in casts we sized up so the pants could fit over, and we never had an issue (he even had to have casts longer than most due to improper casting). We did a full footy onsie one time (for a flight), and we also just sized up, although I don't recommend that as much because it made changing his diaper tough since I couldn't remove it easily because of the cast, he had a blowout. Once he was in boots and bar, we stayed in pants, but his actual size, or we got coveralls for him with snaps along the inside of the legs. He lived in those for pretty much the rest of the cold season while he was in 23 hour wear. They were so helpful!

I didn't think footed sleepsuits would be okay because of the casts and it fitting. I swear a bunch of moms told me to always buy footless outfits🤦🏽‍♀️
Do they actually fit normal? I didn't no if It would cramp his foot up like.

Is it still socks with Grips on the bottom thats best?

Footed sleep suits do fit normal but you might have to size up sooner. As you don’t always know how long you will be in casts it might be safer to go footless from 0-3 months. (In our case we didn’t go into boots until 3 months). During casting it is helpful if the sleep suits have the zip/popper opening on the leg with the cast - not essentially but makes it much easier to get on and off.

Yeh my lad worn footed sleep suits until boots and bars. And he wore socks on both his feet as didnt want his toes in the cast to get cold. I just made sure they werent bunched up at his toes. I use socks from John Lewis.
Make the most of the lil wonky foot as the first appointment when he's he he will get his first casting.

@Leanne yes socks, at least on the non casted foot. And I did the footy onsies a few times and didn't like them, it depends on which leg is in a cast, and which has the full zipper down. I think I had 1 or 2 that had the zipper on his cast side, others were on the non cast side, and I found it easier to have the zipper on the cast side because of flexibility. I still sized up though. I have seen a lot of clubfoot parents love the footies during casting, I just couldn't do it more than on special occasions.

You actually can't tell that there's cast under them from the picture. Like it doesn't look tight or anything, i was thinking it would be really bulky under clothes.

Everyone has deffo been helpful and it's good to know i can use footed sleepsuits if I want for the colder weather.

@Leanne the older my lad got the thicker the cact got. As he kept cracking it when it was drying. When he was 2 month old he was already in 3-6 month bottoms. Then he lived in leggings

Oh okay yea I guess that makes sense. When they can start doing more it becomes thicker.
Yea I've been buying clothes from newborn to 3-6 incase i do need to size up suddenly
