Gallbladder issues

This isn’t strictly pregnancy related but after advice from people in the same situation as me! I’m currently 3 weeks PP with my second and I’m having the most horrendous gallbladder issues. Prior to pregnancy I had never had an issue with my gallbladder but in 3 weeks I’ve had 4 gallbladder attacks and I’ve been admitted to hospital 3 times with an ambulance having to be phoned for one of them. The doctors are really on the ball with this and I’ve so far had a CT scan and Ultrasound to confirm gallstones (which the scans did confirm) and there is now talk of removing the gallbladder soon. Has anyone else had the same problem after pregnancy having never had a problem with it before? If you’ve had it removed, how did you cope with recovery and looking after a baby/babies? I had an emergency c-section with my second and had some serious complications during and after it so I’m very nervous at the thought of another operation but I can’t handle that pain again!

Girrrrllllll lemme tell you. My 3mos PP was the worst. I had a c section too due to a lot of reasons, had pre E 4 days PP, then 4 gallbladder attacks, had it removed 1m PP, then had next day severe pancreatitis due to a blocked bile duct from stones. They put a stent in, removed it a week later. This part was done through my mouth weirdly enough. My recovery was NOTHING compared to the c section. I felt fine right after removal other than some shoulder pain from the gas from the scope method they used to remove it. My incisions were obviously sore but I was able to touch them right after and not cry. My husband works out of town a lot a lot and I basically recovered by myself with my newborn. It is supperrrr common for your gallbladder to crap out after pregnancy. Now, 6mo PP, without it, I feel normal. I suspect I had some issues throughout my life with it but not anymore. Everyyyy once in a while I’ll get an upset stomach but only after a super high fat meal.

I’m 4 weeks PP and was in A&E 2 days ago and got told I have gallstones so now I’m on a wait list to get my gallbladder removed!!! The pain is horrendous when it starts!!!
