So I just finished The Handmaids Tale. And I was sorta disappointed. I thought the show lined up a bit more with the book and it definitely didn’t and left me wanting a lot more out of the book and I was sorta annoyed with the writing style I think.
Has anyone read the “sequel” The Testaments? I have it and I read the first chapter but I really don’t want to be disappointed in the story and/or writing like was with THT. Any input would be super helpful?! TIA

The book is a bit simpler. I think the first season did well and then took off in a different direction. I liked the sequel better. The last season has nothing to do with the sequel though!
I loved the book but I also read it way before the show came out. They strayed after the first season.
I only read testaments after seeing the show and I highly recommend. It was exciting enough to keep my attention when I wasn’t able to read many books during covid era
