Baby modelling jobs/ process once signed (UK)

I’ve recently signed with a non sole for my baby girl - London based. Can anyone pls share their experiences. How long did it take to get a job for baby?What was it like for you? Are jobs given in advance or are all of them literally last minute as the pre warning is written before you sign contract?

Congrats! Hey, my daughter first joined an agency last year she had her first job for a top high street brand within for 4 weeks since then she’s done quite a few others. That’s not always the case. I’m in a fb group and many have said they have never had a job and that’s okay,I’m based up north so had to travel to London. You can get casted , or sometimes they do an availability check and let you know what date the shoot is, you confirm or decline depending on if you’re free. If you’re then selected for the job they then get licensing. The only thing is, say you get a date for the shoot confirmed you sometimes don’t know what time you’re child is required on set till the night before. London is 4 hours away from me so I would travel down the night before just incase it was 9am, I have driven down the morning of the shoot but that can be quite tiring. My daughter’s 17 months now she started at 4 months old. Do you mind me asking what agency you’re with and how old your little one is?

We joined January and have had nothing

@Hayley thank you! That’s really great for your daughter. The confirmation of time the night before the day makes sense. I thought they literally say travel to XX by XX time the night before and wondered how that’s actually possible. She’s 4 months old and just got signed with lacara. Who is your little one with?

@Danielle do you update her profile regularly? And do you think this is because of the agency you’re with?

I do, I’ve updated her photos many times. I g er weekly updates of castings and apply as well as the agency applying but unfortunately we have heard nothing. We’re with a London based agency also, kids Talent Agency due to good reviews and they seem lovely just had nothing unfortunately

@Danielle how do you apply to castings yourself? Hopefully your baby girl gets something soon! I’m wondering if that will be the case for myself and baby as I’ve heard it’s very common experience

So the agency send out a list and I put my daughter forward via those details as well as the agency doing so. They paid for her first shoot too. In all honesty I was told by family and friends not to waste my money due to the competitiveness. But the agency themselves seemed really keen and confident my daughter would have a lot of work. So we joined. My daughter absolutely loves the camera too. Maybe in the future 🤞 I mean if it’s something you’re keen on definitely go for it don’t let anyone else discourage you. Your experience could be completely different to ours x

You’re welcome, you know the date but sometimes the call time is as late as the night before. Not always though, sometimes we have known in advance which is great. The agency are really great with communication though, oh yes I’ve heard of lacara I’ll dm you the fb group which is great for info, my daughter is with Bruce and brown. Hope your little one gets something soon fingers crossed 🩷

@Danielle try Bruce and Brown, they are a sole agency though so can only be with them, how old is your little one. Fingers crossed for you x

Realised I can’t dm you haha! As you’ve commented anon. If you dm me I can send you it x

@Hayley thank you. She’s 6 months just turned x

We joined at 9 months, she had her first 2 jobs within a month. The availability checks are usually at least 2 weeks in advance as most councils require this turnaround time for licensing. The call time we have always got the day before.

@Hayley I’ve dm’d you!

@Kee who are you with if you don’t mind me asking x
